The close protection officer (CPO) was tasked with supporting an internationally known actress and her party during a charity trip to Zambia. The CPO provided security and privacy for all attendees during the trip and oversaw local travel arrangements, including preparing a local emergency action plan. The CPO was on hand to provide the client and her party with immediate direction, assistance and intervention where required.

To ensure the proposed itinerary could be achieved in a safe and timely manner, the CPO liaised with founders and members of various charities ahead of the client’s arrival. The trip involved a combination of private domestic flights and road travel covering over 600 miles. The CPO managed the comfort and welfare of the travelling party, with practical duties including loading vehicles and private aircraft and meeting charters. The client was accompanied by a variety of meetings involving visits to resource and education centres, schools, support groups and residents.

The CPO forged and maintained good relationships with the client, party and other professionals encountered, from charity workers to residents and transportation crew. The vast array of potential security issues was successfully managed and maintained, leaving the client able to conduct her visit unhindered.
